Artist's Description
A person with long hair and casual clothing is depicted from behind, walking towards a softly sketched shoreline. The minimalistic style emphasizes the serene and contemplative atmosphere of the scene.
"At the Water's Edge" is an original, hand-drawn ink sketch washed over with a hint of watercolour to give it a muted or low-chroma aesthetic. It plays on the theme of symbolically and metaphorically 'being at the edge', mentally and emotionally. Contradictorily, it can reflect a state of anxiety and ungroundedness, but also peace, contemplation and internal strength. (Created in 2023.)
About Dianna Hardy
Dianna is an artist, fiction author, and an all-round creative having worked in many fields of the literary and visual arts. She begins an MA degree in Illustration in 2025. Living in England, she uses a sketchy approach to her art to create bold, vibrant, and youthful images with ink, graphite, and watercolours (and sometimes mixed media), translating what she sees in her environment into amusing, thoughtful, or peaceful expressions.
