Artist's Description
A serene landscape features a vibrant sunset behind rolling hills and a calm body of water reflecting the sky. Buildings line the shore, while birds fly across the colorful horizon.
"East Asian Sunset" is a somewhat fantastical and ethereal illustration inspired by the landscape around me growing up as a child in Macau (and Hong Kong) – a bustling, tiny island that could be both busy and tranquil at the same time.
Created in 2023 with soluble ink and watercolour on hot pressed paper.
About Dianna Hardy
Dianna is an artist, fiction author, and an all-round creative having worked in many fields of the literary and visual arts. She begins an MA degree in Illustration in 2025. Living in England, she uses a sketchy approach to her art to create bold, vibrant, and youthful images with ink, graphite, and watercolours (and sometimes mixed media), translating what she sees in her environment into amusing, thoughtful, or peaceful expressions.
